Terms of Service
By installing or using Privio, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
1. The app
Privio is an iOS PDF utility app. It runs on your iPhone and gives you tools to scan, OCR, merge, split, compress, sign, redact, fill forms, and otherwise manipulate PDF files. All file processing happens locally on your device; Privio does not transmit your files to our servers, because Privio has no servers.
The app is offered as-is. We will improve it over time but make no guarantee of feature stability between versions.
2. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable, non-transferable license to use Privio on devices you own or control, for personal or business purposes consistent with these terms. You may not:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app except as permitted by applicable law.
- Redistribute, sell, rent, or sublicense Privio.
- Remove or alter copyright notices or trademarks inside the app.
- Use Privio in any way that violates applicable law.
The license is granted under the Apple App Store EULA, with these terms layered on top where the App Store terms are silent.
3. Paid features (Pro)
Some features in Privio are gated behind paid tiers (Pro Monthly, Pro Yearly, Pro Lifetime). Pricing and feature lists are shown in-app. Purchases are processed by Apple's App Store, governed by their billing terms; we are not party to that payment relationship.
Refunds are handled by Apple according to its policy:
We may add or remove features from each tier as the product evolves, with the constraint that paid users will not lose access to a feature that was the primary reason for purchase without a reasonable equivalent or pro-rata refund.
4. Free tier and Pro tier
Privio is free to download and use with usage limits on certain tools. To remove those limits and unlock the full feature set, you can purchase a Pro subscription (Monthly, Yearly, or Lifetime). Pricing and feature lists are shown in-app and may change between app versions.
Privio contains no advertising of any kind in any tier. There are no banner ads, interstitial ads, rewarded ads, or sponsored content. There is no advertising SDK in the app. See our Privacy Policy for the full data-collection statement.
5. Acceptable use
Privio is a general-purpose tool. You are responsible for what you do with it. You agree not to use Privio to:
- Create, edit, or distribute material that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property rights.
- Forge documents, signatures, or audit trails. Privio's e-signature feature is intended for legitimate document signing — using it to fake someone else's signature is fraud and is your liability, not ours.
- Redact or remove evidence in violation of any legal-hold, preservation, or discovery obligation.
- Distribute malware, illegal content, or anything that violates the laws of your country.
We may not even notice you doing any of this (Privio runs locally) but it's still your responsibility.
6. No legal, medical, or financial advice
Privio is a tool, not a service that gives legal, medical, accounting, or financial advice.
In particular:
- Our PII Scan tool uses pattern matching plus heuristics to flag likely sensitive data. It is helpful but not perfect — it can miss things and it can flag false positives. Always review redactions and PII findings by eye before sharing a sensitive document. We are not liable if a leak occurs because the auto-scan missed something.
- Our Sign + ESIGN audit trail feature is designed to support legitimate electronic signatures. We do not provide a certified e-signature service. Whether a Privio-signed document is legally binding depends on your jurisdiction and the specific use; consult a licensed attorney if it matters.
- Our redaction tool truly removes the matched text from the affected pages (text layer flattened, image-burned black bars). However: documents have many surfaces — embedded objects, attachments, metadata, prior versions, comments. Before sending a sensitive document externally, you should verify the redacted PDF in a separate viewer.
- Templates we may bundle (court forms, tax forms, immigration forms) are provided as-is for convenience. Forms change. Verify the latest version on the issuing agency's website before filing.
7. ESIGN Act / UETA notice (United States)
When you use Privio's Sign tool to e-sign a document, you agree that:
- You intend your drawn signature to constitute your electronic signature on that specific document at the moment you tap "Sign".
- The audit trail Privio embeds (SHA-256 hash of the pre-signed document, UTC timestamp, signer name if provided) is a record we generate to help authenticate that signing event. It is not a guarantee of legal enforceability, which depends on the recipient's acceptance, the transaction type, and applicable state/federal law.
- You may withdraw consent to receive or sign documents electronically by not using the Sign tool.
This notice satisfies the consumer-disclosure requirement under 15 U.S.C. § 7001(c)(1) for transactions conducted via Privio.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
Privio is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Privio.
- Our total liability for any direct damages is capped at the amount you paid us for Privio in the 12 months before the claim arose, or USD 50, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Erek Studio harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of:
- Your violation of these terms.
- Your use of Privio to handle content you did not have the right to handle.
- Your reliance on auto-generated outputs (redactions, PII scans, OCR, signatures) without independent verification.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be noted in the next app update's "What's New". Continued use after the effective date of the change is acceptance.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye (where Erek Studio is operated), without regard to conflict-of-law principles. For users outside Türkiye, any mandatory consumer-protection rights in your jurisdiction still apply.
