Terms of Use
Ownio · last updated 21 August 2026
These terms cover your use of Ownio, an iPhone app made by Mustafa Salim Erek (Erek Studio). Installing or using the app means you accept them.
The most important thing on this page. Ownio's values are AI-assisted estimates prepared to help you document what you own. They are not a certified appraisal, not a guarantee of replacement cost, and not an offer of any kind. Ownio does not sell insurance, is not an insurance producer or broker, and gives no insurance, legal or financial advice.
What Ownio is for
Photographing your possessions, recording what they are and roughly what they are worth, and producing a dated report you can give to an insurer, a landlord, a loss adjuster or anyone else who asks you to prove what you had. It is a documentation tool. What anyone does with that document — accept it, question it, pay against it — is between you and them.
The estimates
- Values are produced by an AI model reading a photograph. It can be wrong about what an object is, what brand it is, and what it is worth.
- Every field is editable, and the estimate a scan produces is a first draft for you to correct. Items the model was unsure about are marked Worth checking.
- You are responsible for what is in the report you send. Check it before you rely on it.
- For jewellery, art, watches and anything else of substantial value, get a professional appraisal. Many policies sub-limit those categories and will not pay the documented figure without one.
- Ownio does not convert between currencies. The figures are in whichever currency you selected, and changing that setting changes the symbol, not the numbers.
Subscription
- Ownio is sold as an auto-renewing weekly subscription with a free trial. The exact price, the trial length and what the trial includes are shown in the app before you confirm, in your local currency.
- A subscription includes a set number of photographs for AI identification in each subscription week, stated in the app before you subscribe. The unit is a photograph, not a scan: a burst capture collects up to four frames and spends what it collects. The allowance refills at the start of each week and unused photographs do not roll over.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of that period.
- Manage or cancel it in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the period you are in.
- If you subscribe during a free trial, any unused part of that trial is forfeited when you purchase.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. We cannot issue them, but write to us if something went wrong and we will help where we can.
- The price you subscribe at is the price you keep for as long as the subscription runs without interruption. If prices change, Apple will ask for your consent before charging you more.
Photograph packs
- Photographs can also be bought outright, in a pack of a fixed size shown with its price in the app before you confirm. This is a one-off purchase, not a subscription, and it does not renew.
- Purchased photographs do not expire and are not cleared by the weekly refill. A scan spends the week's allowance first and touches the purchased balance only once that is gone.
- An active subscription is needed to spend them. A pack adds to your balance; it does not by itself grant access to the AI service. This is why packs are offered inside the app only while a subscription is running.
- The balance is held against an anonymous identifier for your installation, described in the Privacy Policy. Apple does not restore one-off purchases, so we cannot recover a balance that is deleted along with that identifier.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us.
Fair use
Subscribing gives you the app, not an unlimited claim on the AI service behind it. The photograph allowance above is the limit that governs what you can scan. Beyond it there is only a coarse guard against a single installation hammering the service, set far above any honest use; it is a cost guard rather than an upsell, and reaching it is not something ordinary use will do. If you ever do, everything you have already documented stays available and you can keep adding items by hand.
Your content
Your photographs and your inventory are yours. We claim no ownership and no licence to them beyond what is technically needed to identify an item at the moment you ask for it, which is described in the Privacy Policy. Because the record lives on your device, keeping it safe is up to you: export the PDF and store it somewhere other than the home it describes.
Acceptable use
Do not use Ownio to document property that is not yours in order to misrepresent ownership, to produce a report you know to be false, or to support a fraudulent insurance claim. Do not attempt to bypass the attestation, the fair-use limits or the subscription. Do not decompile or redistribute the app.
Availability
The AI scanning feature needs an internet connection and depends on services we do not control. Everything else — your inventory, your reports, manual entry — works offline. We do not promise uninterrupted availability and may change or discontinue features, though we will not knowingly take away access to a record you have already made.
Liability
Ownio is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for an insurance claim that is denied, reduced or disputed, for an inaccurate estimate, for loss of data on your device, or for any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury or fraud. Nothing here affects your statutory consumer rights.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. If you are a consumer, you keep the protections of the law of your own country of residence.
Changes
These terms may be updated; the date at the top will change and the current version always lives at this address. Continuing to use Ownio after a change means accepting it.
